Extension Projects
If you would like to work on an extension project as a challenge, please choose one or two from the options below. You may work individually, with a partner, or with a small group. If you have any questions, please ask Mrs. Ryder. When you are ready to present to the class, schedule a day with Mrs. Ryder and she will add your presentation to the project calendar.
Tips: Think about the damage the storm might cause to land and buildings. Think about the movement in the storm, such as its speed and direction. Think about how long the storm will last. |
Today icebreaking ships usually push their bows up onto ice until it collapses, but sometimes they have to back up and ram thick ice. These boats can break through ice that is more than 23 feet thick. Choose a partner to create a labeled diagram of an icebreaker that describes its parts and functions. |
