Drs. Simone Muench and Jackie White Published in New Antholgy

English Department Faculty Drs. Simone Muench and Jackie White are featured in the new anthology, A Writers' Congress: Chicago Poets on Obama's Inauguration.

They also participated in a reading of selections from the anthology at the Poetry Center of Chicago on Friday February 13.

The Obama anthology is temporarily available for free by request via email at aperson@depaul.edu.

WBEZ in Chicago recorded a public reading from the anthology on January 20th, which is now available at http://www.chicagopublicradio.org/Content.aspx?audioID=31687. The archived WBEZ radio story can be found at http://www.wbez.org/Content.aspx?audioID=31531.

Dr. Christopher Wielgos to Lecture on Postmodern Film

Dr. Wielgos will present his lecture "Our Culture in Digital View: Film in a Postmodern Age" as part of the Arts and Ideas series of events for the Spring 2009 semester. His lecture and presentation will explain the concept of postmodernism, then highlight characteristics of contemporary films that incorporate these concepts. His lecture will include a preview of the films that he will show through the semester as part of his series on Postmodern Film. Dr. Wielgos is Associate Professor of English.

Windows Fine Arts Magazine 2009

The Windows Fine Arts Magazine 2009 is currently under development.  Judges continue to review entries, and winners will be notified in March. The magazine will be released at the annual Windows Reception for Winners  on April 19. 

Asst. Prof. Jones has been Editor, Coordinator, and Designer of the magazine for the past four years, and this year sketched and designed the cover with assisted works. The online version of the magazine will be unveiled on April 19th, the same day as the print version, with a link on the English Department Home Page.
